a (very late) inspiration wednesday

Well, it is still Wednesday. I wanted to give a shout out this week to all the artists and writers who donated their work to benefit Red Cross of Japan and other tsunami and earthquake relief efforts. In the Seattle community alone two efforts by artists raised a lot of money. Diem Chau’s raffle of one of her crayon sculptures raised over $6,000.  Artists for Japan, a group of 150 artists, banded together last weekend to raise over $80,000 through the sale of artworks. Across the twitter and blog-os-sphere, writers and editors raffled off critiques, books, editorial sessions and the like, giving their time and their work to benefit the survivors of the disaster.

The creative community rocks long and hard.

Hope your Wednesday was inspired. Me, I’m off to bed.
