inspiration wednesday – dana sullivan

Dana Sullivan rocks. There, I said it. It’s only the truth and you might as well know it. This is Dana holding up the new iPad he won for general Pirate awesomeness which is awesomeness that only adds to his base coat of A+ – ness. A stellar designer for web and print, Dana has written and illustrated a well received picture book released as an iPad app, I’m going to be a Pirate, which won him the aforementioned iPad. Check out his website and his blog, where he showcases Sticky Love, the sticky notes he began making for his wife Vicki years ago and which have morphed into a sticky journal of love and other observations. Let’s just say that if Dana had Inspiration Wednesday, Vicki would be the star most Wednesdays. And check out the website for Star of Hope, the orphanage Dana and Vicki support in Kenya. That’s right. It really is Inspiration Wednesday.

Currently, Mr. Sullivan is giving his A+ in service of SCBWI preparations for Northwest Bookfest, coming up this weekend, October 1 & 2 in Kirkland. The Western Washington kidlit folk will be holding forth at Booth 16, hard by the KCLS Kirkland Library during the weekend. We’re talking authors signing books, illustrator demos, books for sale (thank you University Book Store!) and a host of kidlit-related panels, events and workshops. This is an event for writers and for readers and ought not to be missed. Dana is a big reason why we will be representing in such fine fashion. Thanks, Dana. Rock on!

Check out the SCBWI booth schedule for NW Bookfest. SCBWI Western Washington has so much talent.
